James D. Chambers, 80, of Evansville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at his residence surrounded by family.
He was born on December 12, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of the late James Garvin and Lilian Rebecca (Boyer) Chambers.
James attended Ritzs High School and later spent four years serving our country in the Air Force. He retired from Alcoa after 35 years and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Lonna of 57 years; children, Tamara Irvin and her husband Bob of Lynnville, Russ Chambers and Sandi Wall of Chandler, Terry Chambers and his wife Tammy of Evansville, Brian Chambers and his wife Michelle of North Point Florida; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Sargent.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Hempfling and Doris Hunt.
A Celebration of Life service is planned on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 2-5 p.m. at Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8419 Newburgh Road, Evansville, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America in James memory.

I was so sorry to read this and it was so long ago. I heard today one of Terry’s boys has died. We have fallen away from our friendship which is a sorry shame. Jim was a really good man but heaven gained a really good angel.
