Jeff Strohmeyer, 57, went home to Jesus August 5, 2019 at 8:35 a.m.at St. Vincent Hospital, Evansville, IN.
He was born at Frances E. Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne, WY.to his parents Daniel Allen Kemp (deceased), Donna Fay Grooms Parrish.
He attended Elberfeld, IN Grade School and Boonville, IN High School.
His favorite thing to do was be with his son and grandchildren, watching IU basketball; he always gave UK fans a hard time. He enjoyed driving around Boonville, Chandler, and Evansville to visit his friends. He would stop by, say hello, stay a few minutes, leave, to his next friend, say hello, stay a few minutes and leave.
He never met a stranger. Everyone he met became his friend, If he had a grumpy nurse he would say to his Mom, “I’m going to get her to smile and like me,” And he did it didn’t matter if you were young, old, rich or poor, or what race. He loved people.
Jeff is survived and blessed with one son, Zackary Allen Strohmeyer (Tera Bunch, three beautiful grandchildren, Maci Linn Strohmeyer, age eight, Maddox Lee Allen Strohmeyer, age three and Mila Rose Strohmeyer, age eight months. Also by his Mother, Donna Grooms Parrish, and adoptive father, Amos Strohmeyer, his brother Tony David Strohmeyer, (Stacy), Nephew, Joshua Strohmeyer, and Niece Jennifer Strohmeyer, Aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him and meeting at Heaven’s gate are his Pappaw, Leonard Grooms, Mamaw, Hazel Grooms and Zack’s Mother, Nancy Hayes.
Jeff was ready to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He told his doctor and nurses he was tired and wanted to go home to be with Jesus. No more machines, no more medicine, no more hospitals, no nursing homes, no doctors. He had not been back to his home for 14 months. He is Home now, he is home.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 17th 2019, 1-3pm followed by Celebration of Life at Christ Gospel Church, 2301 E. Riverside Drive, Evansville, IN.
Officiating are Pastors Sharon Spicer and Mark Short.
