Lori Streeter, 49, of Evansville, Indiana went home to Jesus on August 20, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 1, 1970 to Norman Kenney Streeter and Kathryn Louise Streeter. She was their first born child and was loved immensely from the moment she entered this world.
At the very center of Lori’s world was her family. Her love and devotion to them was unceasing, up until her very final moments. Her walk with the Lord was something she held close to her heart and she demonstrated God’s unfailing love to everyone she knew. 1 Corinthians 13:13 states: “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Lori embodied that and believed that just about every problem could be solved with just the right amount of love. And most of the time, she was right. To love unconditionally was something she instilled deeply into her children, even the “adopted” ones. Her nurturing nature and caring heart often found her with an extra teenager or two in the house. Her legacy will always be how deeply she loved.
In addition to nurturing the hearts of others, Lori had a passion for gardening. Her green thumb and excitement for nature was contagious and warmed the hearts of anyone she talked to about it. She had a special knack for nursing plants and flowers back to health; spending countless hours giving each one the special attention it needed to grow and bloom.
Lori is survived by her father, Norman Streeter; children, Kristina and Matthew; a granddaughter, Faith; five sisters, Paula (Jim), Stephanie, Sherrie, Carrie, and Brittany; her aunt Mary; countless beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; and last but not least her favorite pal: her dog Luke.
She was welcomed into heaven by her grandparents, Russell and Deloris Crabtree; and her mother Kathryn Streeter; nephew, Brandon Beck.
A celebration of life honoring Lori’s love for nature and the outdoors will be held at a later date.
