Evansville, IN – Tammy Lynn Wedding, 47, often called “Sarge” or “Brigadier General,” passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 22nd, 2019, of pancreatic cancer. She was born November 23rd, 1971 in Evansville and raised in Spencer county.
She was a disciplined and passionate woman who threw her heart and soul into serving others as a nurse, EMT, and soldier in the Armed Forces. Her degrees included business, psychology, and nursing, all of which she was quite proud of. Her heart, however, was set on nursing and caring for others, which became her long-term career.
A no-nonsense sort of woman, she was known for being real with people, honest even if it would lead to hurt feelings, all for the greater good. Her favorite pastimes were getting lost in a good book, watching true-crime and procedural TV shows, and occasionally oil painting and coloring. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Desirae Wedding, whom survives her.
As per Tammy’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or reception. There will be a small get-together at her workplace, reserved for friends and coworkers. Time and date is to be announced.
Thank you to Tammy’s coworkers and friends for the outpouring of support. She hadn’t expected so many well-wishes or assistance, but she and her daughter both deeply appreciated it, more than words can say.
