Evansville, IN – Roger Dale Wetzel, 85, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born to the late John Walter and Ruby Lucille (Cissna) Wetzel on May 30, 1934 in Rockport, Indiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann (Humphrey) Wetzel; daughters Julia Hyland, Elizabeth Ward, and Rebecca Wetzel, as well as his grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Hyland.
Roger worked for JC Penney for 25 years. In 1980 he decided to devote full time to creating stained glass art. A traveling artist, his work can be admired in homes all up and down the US East Coast.
Roger loved life and loved meeting people. He was passionate about taking care of “his girls,” cruising throughout the Caribbean, and singing in his church choir. Roger was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Evansville and was a University of Evansville graduate. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at a later date.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.

I’m very sorry to hear of Roger’s death. I met him and Ann many years ago when then participated in a craft show held at my church in McLean, VA. I liked them both immediately. Roger was an artist for sure. My prayers are with your family for peace and comfort.
