RIP to our rockin’ karaoke buddy Randy Atkins. Karaoke will never be the same in Evansville. I personally have known Randy for 10 years or so. He’s been one of my most loyal supporters and was at nearly every karaoke gig that I have had. He always loved to “liven this place up” and fed off the energy of the crowd. He loved singing in karaoke contests and usually had a duet picked out for him and his friends to sing together afterwards. Once you got to know Randy, he was your friend for life. We went to a couple Styx concerts together and I think we’ve sang every song in their library at karaoke. He shared with my wife and me his prized Farmer’s Daughters cheesecake recipe. Ironically, we just made this for our Christmas gathering and it was delicious. Randy loved his Steelers. He showed up to karaoke many times with his Steelers hat and jacket on. He also loved betting on those horses. Sometimes he’d let me know that he had to miss a karaoke gig so that he could stay home and study the big horse race coming up. I know he took tremendous pride in that. He often bragged about his grand daughter and I know he looked forward to visiting his family every chance he got. We’ll miss you buddy and I hope you have found some good karaoke partners up there in heaven. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I 100% agree with you BK. Randy was my best friend and such a great guy. We sang in SO many karaoke contests and spots throughout the years. In addition to my karaoke memories, one really stands out. I gave him a smartphone and taught him how to use it. I am so happy I was able to do that.
Rest in peace my friend and I know you are singing your heart out in heaven. I will miss you.
I am so sorry for your loss Bruce and Sydney.

Randy Atkins will be missed. Remember to see your friends and call often. Time changes things.
Randy was a vibrant Christian and a truly patriotic American. He spoke of his family often.
He had a deceased son Brian. He was especially proud of Sydney, his granddaughter and Bruce his son and spoke of all of them often.
All of his Evansville friends will miss his sparkling personality.
RIP Randy🌹…

Randy was such a sweet soul. He would go out of his way for those he cared about. He even came to my baby shower! He knew how to put a smile on your face. Randy would come to my work with candy and ask phone questions. He walked me to my car when I went to karaoke alone downtown just so he knew I would be safe. He got me into karaoke and it will never be the same without him. He always wanted to make people smile and have a good time. He had such a pure and young heart. Prayers for his family and friends.

Randy, karaoke won’t be the same without you. You’ll always hold a special place in my heart as well as Jamie’s. Even though I never get on stage, it was always a pleasure to hear you share your talents. I’m very fortunate to have gotten to know you, even if it was a shorter time than I had hoped for. Keep singing up there in heaven. We’ll see you again. Already looking forward to hearing you on stage up when we’re all reunited! Rest In Peace Randy!!
