Constance “Connie” Octavia Bennett was a caring mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world suddenly on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at age 36, from complications due to Diabetic Ketoacidosis.
Connie is survived by her sons, Gavin Dibble and Jayce Waters, sisters; Jenise Bennett, and Gwendolyn Bennett, brother; Jerrin Bennett, stepbrother; Dylan Kastner, stepmother; Debbie Bennett, father; Colin Bennett, grandmother; Priscilla Tanner, special friend; Brittany Magsig, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her mother; Annetta (Miller) Kastner, stepfather; James Kastner, brother; Broderick Miller, and grandmother; Ruth Ann Miller.
Connie was born in Terre Haute, IN, on November 7, 1984, to Colin S. Bennett and Annetta Miller. She graduated from Marion High School in 2003. After high school, Connie attended Ivy Tech, where she majored in Computer Technology. Before graduating from Ivy Tech, Connie changed her major to psychology and left to continue her studies at Vincennes University and the University of Southern Indiana. She found her true calling while working in the hospitality industry, where she worked until her death. Throughout her career, she held many positions, such as waitress, bartender, hostess, and business manager. At the time of her death, she worked as an event planner at City View at Sterling Square.
Besides spending time with family and friends, Connie had a passion for reading, crafting and painting, and listening to music. Through her books, she learned new things and found a way to relax and escape. Through crafting and painting, she made and personalized gifts for her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts with family and friends.
Connie had a bright and energetic personality and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile. She was very friendly, outgoing, and witty, with a great sense of humor. She touched many lives. We will miss her dearly.
