Lincoln City, IN – Wavie Daugherty, Jr., 99, of Lincoln City, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at his home. He was born on January 21, 1923 in Boonville, Indiana to the late Wavie, Sr. and Shirley (Houston) Daugherty.
Wavie had been a past member of the VFW Post 673 of Jasper, Indiana. He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Aldebaran Refrigeration Shift supplying the Pacific Fleet. He enjoyed spending his time bass fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Daugherty (Doris), Karen Mitchell, Linda Hussey (David) and Rhonda Daugherty; his sister, Colleen Taylor as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
Wavie is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Irene McCoy Daugherty; his son, James Daugherty; his brothers, Andrew, Garland and Donald Daugherty and his sisters, Imogene Blackford, Zelma Dimmett, Marylee Patterson, Shirley Byers and Joyce Rice.
A celebration in honor of Wavie’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Boonville First Assembly of God Church in Boonville, Indiana.
