Eleanor M. Savage, 74, passed away from lung cancer on May 22, 2022 in Newburgh, Indiana, where she had lived since 2008.
Eleanor was born in Chicago to Edward and Helen Zitek, she grew up on the southwest side of the city, and attended Academy of Our Lady High School. She moved from Chicago to Seattle, Washington, where she worked for many years at the Applied Physics Laboratory of the University of Washington.
Throughout her life, she loved her many pets, especially dogs, cats, and reptiles, and was always a voracious reader.
Her husband, Patrick Savage, predeceased her in 2018.
She is survived by her brother Bill Zitek of Seattle and Carol Lindholm of Florida.
Eleanor and her siblings greatly appreciate all the help and care shown by her Newburgh neighbors, particularly Debi Talarzyk, during this difficult time.
Joey Luzar and Steve Renfrow says
Bill and Carol we are sorry for your loss. Steve and I are sad we did not get to know Eleanor better than we did. We will miss her as well as her wit, humor and the stories she shared.
Carol Lindholm says
Dear Steve and Joey,
I appreciate you both so much for all the help you gave my sister after Pat died and especially during her illness.
I look forward to meeting you next month along with my brother Bill, and my husband Ken.
Thank you,
Carol Lindholm
Kathy Savage says
Bill and Carol, I am so sorry to learn that Eleanor has left this world, but know that she is happy to be reunited with Pat in Heaven. While we were not in touch much the past three years, Eleanor was kind enough to ship to me Savage family photos that Pat had saved. It was therapeutic for me to go through his collection of photos. May smiles and sighs replace your tears as you share fond memories with family and friends. With sadness, Kathy Savage, Pat’s sister.
Jeffrey Barnes says
She was a great neighbor.
May she rest in heaven!
