Emma Lou (Buttery) White Leehy
Emma Lou (Buttery) White Leehy 87, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 23, 2022, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
Eme was born June 23, 1935 in New Florence, Missouri, the daughter of Cecil Worrick Buttery and Hester Marie (Simmons) Buttery. Eme was preceded in death by three husbands, John Barger, George White and Wayne Leehy.
Eme loved buying and selling at flea markets, garage sales and animals. She especially loved horses and her two dogs, Mica and Taffy.
Eme had three loving nieces as caregivers for many years, Teresa Chasteen, Rhonda O’Neal and Keather Thompson.
Eme is survived by seven siblings, Delpha Harvey, Etta (Steve) Healy, Norris City, Robert (Linda) Buttery, Orlando, Fla., Carolyn Buttery, James Buttery, Evansville, Ind., Edwin (Pam) Buttery, Boaz, Ala., Brenda (Pete) Rawlinson, Crossville, grandchildren; Lori, Tim, Matthew, Jess, Jenny, David and Spencer, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eme was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two siblings, Celia Peacock, Dennis Buttery. She was also preceded in death by four children, Barbara, Bruce, Ed and Liz and Liz’s husband Fred, and two grandchildren, Lanae and Rachel.
Eme will be laid to rest in Veterans Memorial Cemetery in McLeansboro, Ill., beside her second husband.
