Stephanie Diane Austin of Oaktown, Indiana, has passed on to her Creator on Sunday, April 30, 2023, while in the hospice unit at the Good Samaritan Hospital of Vincennes, Indiana. She was born to Joseph H Austin and Jill (Smith, Austin, Abell) Feltner on March 9, 1978, in Washington, Indiana.
She is survived by her partner, Keith Bye; Her children: Jeremy Leighty (Marlen Ortiz), of South Bend; Tesa Church of Odon, IN; Chase Church of Madisonville, KY; her father, Joe Austin (Rose) of Jasper, IN; her siblings: Jeff Austin of Indianapolis, and Vanessa (Abell) Landstrom (Steven) of Petersburg, IN; Stepdaughters: Skyleah Risley and Chelysee Risley of Vincennes, IN; Two Step-grandchildren: Jordan Garcia of South Bend, IN, and Blakely Burton of Vincennes, IN; Five nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Jill Feltner and her stepdad, John T. Feltner.
She had been employed in the service industry in the Vincennes area. She loved to laugh and find humor in life and beauty in nature. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and sharing memories and laughing. She had a kind heart and love for life.
Her proudest accomplishments are her three children – which she was told she could never have. Her life expectancy was to 12 years old, but her strong will for life and to prove them wrong got her through to her 45th birthday in March.
As her conditions was kidney failure and liver disease, she was in need of both transplants. Her hope was for people to be organ and tissue donors to help others to live on. Our request is for the people who are able, please be an organ and tissue donor.
Her memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the River of Life church, 342 CR 300 N, Petersburg, IN, at 12:00 pm. Friends may offer their condolences before the service.

I was her and Jeffery’s friend Vinnie’s mom. I was friends with Jill and the kids would play together when we all lived near each other (Jill & family in a little red house across the street from a convenience store and Vinnie and I in a trailer a couple of blocks behind them) in Oakland City way back in the 80s. Steph and Jeffrey were good kids and I enjoyed having them around. When I found this obituary and then Jill’s, it brought great sadness but also a lot of good memories. My deepest condolences to the family and friends. R.I.P., sweet Stephanie.
