Michael W. Briggs Sr., of Oakland City, IN, passed away at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, IN on October, 31, 2023 with his family by his side. Michael was born January 3, 1946 to George and Elpha Briggs.
Michael was in the US Army for 3 years. Michael married Brenda (Ash) Briggs on October 16, 1992. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 256 in Oakland City. Mike was and will always be special to all of his family and friends. He was so proud of his family and would do anything he could to help in any way.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Brenda Briggs; brothers Patrick (Bee) of Princeton, and Bobby of Marian, IN; sisters Liz (Tom) Ruble of Evansville, Vickie McGowan and Georgia Curtis of Oakland City; children Michael Jr. (Chrissy) Briggs of Oakland City, Amie Persinger of Princeton, Mark (Regina) Like of Oakland City, Shawn (Rich) Vidiella of Oakland City; grandchildren Randal Helsley, Michael Briggs, Kendal Briggs, Jacob Persinger, Kinzie Persinger, David Like, Chance Like, John Like, Colton Camden, Ashley Camden, Matthew Riley, Keyona Vidiella . 5 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elpha Briggs; sisters Mitzi Hartley, Billie Pavey, and Marna Miller; brothers Jay and David.
Michael will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
