Thomas Lee Miley Sr, 76, of Petersburg IN passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at home surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Thomas was born May 16, 1947 at home to Regis Roscoe and Dolores Mae Copinski Miley. He graduated from Petersburg High School in 1965. He married Nancy Sue Huffman Sept. 9, 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 57 years; son, Tom and Joanna Miley of Henderson KY; daughter, Tami and Cory Canada of San Jose, IL; 8 grandchildren, Robert Houchin, Samantha Stambaugh, Kaci Houchin, Trey Miley, Darian Hull, Brodie Canada, Gentry Kamuf and Ashlyn Canada; 7 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Charlie, Jaxon, Lorelei, Peter, Fitzgerald and Hudson; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents; one daughter, DeeDee; three brothers, Roscoe, Michael and David.
He worked for Conrail Railroad for 11 years and then retired from Triad Mining in 2007. He owned and operated the Second Time Around Tanning and Laundry in Petersburg. He was a long time active member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge 1617 holding many positions throughout the years and earning the merit of Pilgrim in 2022.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12 pm EST.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.

Uncle Tom was a good guy with a fun loving personality. I always loved hearing his stories of working at Triad Mining and his stories of working with my Dad Jerry during his Conrail days. He’ll be missed.
