Evansville, IN – Matthew L. “Wildy” Wilderman, age 42 of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home surrounded by family after his journey with brain cancer. He was under the compassionate and loving care of Ascericare Hospice of Evansville.
Matthew was born on September 3, 1981 to Dana (DeKemper) Burkhart and Michael Wilderman. He graduated from Princeton High School in 2000, attended Ivy Tech of Evansville, Indiana, worked for ServiceMaster in Bend, Oregon and held jobs in the Industrial industry.
He loved the lord and cherished every moment he had with getting to visit with his sons. The great outdoors took him on many trips cross country from ocean to ocean. He loved sitting in the sand by the ocean, hiking, fishing, boating, camping and building bonfires. His favorite team was Notre Dame.
Matthew loved his family & friends and saw the good in everyone. He was always there to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his parents, Dana Burkhart (Jeff) and Michael Wilderman (Stacey); his sister, Hannah Burkhart; his niece, Lucy Dabbs; his ex-wife, Sarah Hobbs as well as his sons, Mason and Benny Wilderman.
The family wishes to thank the team of doctors, nurses and staff who stood by Matthew’s journey holding his hand, for their love and compassion and for never giving up. “There is Hope.”
