JoAnne Horton (Donaldson), aged 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully February 15, 2024.
Born on August 28, 1939, in Saxton, Pennsylvania, JoAnne was the beloved daughter of Allen Donaldson and Margaret (Ross). On June 30, 1956, she married Gary Niles Horton in Winchester, Virginia, and they shared 68 years of marriage. Together, they were blessed with four children: Kim Margaret (Robert Exton), Pamela Jo (Doug Engledow), Gregory Niles (Michele), and Michelle Marie (William Sidwell).
JoAnne is survived by her loving husband, Gary Niles Horton, her four children, and her grandchildren: Jonathan (Jayne) Exton, Kara Exton, Christopher Livingston, Ryan (Geena) Livingston, Eric (Molly) Exton, Kyle Livingston, Matthew Horton, Nathan Pyle, Tyler Horton, and Billy Sidwell. Her great-grandchildren: Ayden, Jordan, Claire, Tanner, and Isla, brought immense joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Donaldson (Mary) of McVeytown, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley and brother Max Donaldson (Janet Lou).
A dedicated homemaker, JoAnne found joy in expressing her creativity through sewing, ceramics, antique collection, and cooking, often creating meals and gifts for her family during holidays. Throughout their life together, JoAnne and Gary journeyed across several states due to his occupation in the trucking business, forming lasting friendships in each community they lived.
JoAnne’s life will be celebrated at a later date in Saxton, Pennsylvania where she will be laid to rest alongside her mother, father, and sister at Fockler Cemetery.
