Alfredo Deshaun Phipps, 50, Husband, Father, Son and dear friend to many, left earth
peacefully on March 24, 2024 at St. Vincent Ascension in Evansville, Indiana. Alfredo Phipps
was born to Cynthia Valley and Gregory Fountain Sr. on December 26, 1973 in Owensboro, Ky.
Alfredo was a working father, son, and a down to earth friend to many. Alfredo graduated from
Benjamin Bosse High School and served in the United States Army. He was strong,
hardworking and he always put his family first. In his spare time he loved reading, loved comics
including watching Marvel and DC movies, tv shows, watching basketball and football, spending
time with buddies and with his family. Alfredo also enjoyed cooking. He loved his wife, mom,
children, siblings and his whole family. Alfredo always had a way of making everyone he met
feel special and to feel like family.
Alfredo worked in numerous positions including management at Maloney’s Roca Bar,
AppleBee’s, Shoe Carnival, and other employment. Alfredo kept working even through the midst
of his battle with cancer. Alfredo fought through every circumstance whether speaking
affirmations verbally or by text with authority.
Alfredo Phipps was preceded in death by his son, Deshaun Phipps; his father, Gregory
Fountain Sr.; step-father, Bruce Valley, both paternal and maternal grandparents, and other
relatives.
Alfredo leaves to cherish his memories of his passing his mother, Cynthia Valley; children,
Donovan and Demetre Phipps, Deshauna, Donte, Devon, Alfredo Phipps Jr., and Decynthia
Phipps; wife, Martha Phipps; his brothers, Mark McKenzie, Jai Howard, Gregory Fountain ,
Jamison Johnson, Ryan Taylor; his sisters, Erina Smith, Katrina Howard, Andrea Johnson,
Joyce Johnson, and Ashly Helms; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 12PM at Arena of Faith, 1100 N Elliott St,
Evansville, IN 47711.
