Joseph F. Wesley, 63, of Indiana, died at his home in Mt Vernon, Indiana.
He was born on November 19, 1960 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Melvin Joe Wesley and Mary E Wesley. His father, Melvin Joe Wesley, proceeded him in death.
He survived by his mother Mary E. Wesley and 6 brothers and sisters: Lisa Storm (Robert Storm), Lori Wesley, Chris Wesley (Patty Wesley), Judith Wesley, Jim Wesley (Leslie Wesley), Bernadette Wesley “Sr. Mary Catherine”, and many nieces and nephews.
He lived his life with a smile. He never knew a stranger and loved story telling. Joe was always ready to go fishing or hunting, eat/cook a good meal, or cheer for his favorite Kansas sports teams. He was a committed bachelor. He will be missed by his Kansas family and his Catholic Church choir and friends. Joe is remembered for his High School sports success at Glasco High School. He served his country in the Army National Guard, worked with his father at the family-owned Joe’s Auto Mart, and working in construction, painting, and several factory jobs all with a broke back from a motorcycle accident when he was hit by a car 25 years ago when the car pulled out on a busy road and hit him. He was not supposed to walk again, but as in sports he achieved much success and was up walking within a month of the accident, living on his own, self-sufficient.
The Memorial service will be on May 28th 10 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane Salina, Kansas. Lunch will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Mary E. Wesley for funeral expenses.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.
