James Robert Best, of Rockport, IN, honorably stepped into eternity during the early morning hours of May 7, 2024 while in the comfort of family and friends, at the age of 60. He was welcomed in heaven by his father, James Arthur Best; mother, Anna Ellen Best; sister, Jan Elaine Powers; brother, Philip Wayne Best.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Desireé Best; Alexis Best; Candace Crabtree; his two beautiful granddaughters, Emelia and Indigo, who he loved dearly; his nephew, Trey McGuinn; niece, Miranda Powers; and many warm-hearted cousins.
He was a dedicated, hardworking, fun-loving man whose piercing blue eyes poured light and love onto anyone he encountered.
Jimmy enjoyed laughing and loving with friends and family and his witty humor will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor as he requested to not have a funeral service and he has been cremated as per his wishes.
“I know you’ll be sad and I know you’re gonna miss me, but please don’t cry for me too long. I’m happy and I’m home now. All my love, Jimmy.”

You have my deepest sympathy. I enjoyed getting reacquainted with one of my younger cousins. He embraced my family as I did his. He will truly be missed. Love your cousin Gloria

Tanya,
We can’t thank you enough for pulling in Jimmy’s cousins and friends last spring for a living celebration of Jimmy. It was wonderful to meet you and reconnect with Jimmy and friends. Much love to you, his daughters Desirée, Alexis, and Candace and their families, and to Miranda and Trey.
From Cousin Debbie, Kentucky.
