James Robert Johnson, 58, of Morganfield Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, after an extended battle from health issues. He is survived by his father James Oscar Johnson, wife, Geneva of Hartsville, SC., and two children from a previous marriage. His son, James Robert Johnson II (Aleigh) of Zanesville, Indiana and Ciara Desiree (Greg) of St. Joe, Indiana have a total of eight grandchildren that James enjoys spending time with greatly; brothers Jeff Johnson and Dan Johnson; sisters Melody Yanovic, and Jennifer Kemp.
James was a graduate of Bosse High School in Evansville Indiana. After high school, he entered the military in both the US Army and US Navy where he was honorably discharged for his service. He served on the USS Guam and USS Hayler. After his military service, he became an over-the-road truck driver until the Fall of 2022.
The family would like to thank all the medical and nursing staff who have provided wonderful care and support over the last two years. We are especially grateful to the staff at Redbank Skilled Nursing of Henderson, Kentucky. A special thanks to Dr. Eula Tetangco for exceptional care and support of our family. Also, thank you to Shara Mills, NP with Deaconess,and Dr. Digavalli and her nurse, Melanie from the VA, for all of your hard work with Jimmy’s care.
Charitable donations may be given by request of the family and James honor to the Redbanks Skilled Nursing facility in Henderson, Kentucky.
