Christopher D. Cummings, 51, of Huntingburg, IN, passed away on December 13, 2024. Born on January 5, 1973, Chris graduated from Crawford County High School and spent over a decade at ResCare, alongside many years as a truck driver and at Jasper Engines, among other positions.
Chris was known for his humorous and caring nature, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. He had a deep passion for WWE wrestling, revered scary characters like Jason Voorhees, and was a dedicated fan of The Steelers. His love for car build shows and old classic cars was profound, and he cherished times spent with friends and family. Previously, he was an active member of the Jaycees, contributing to various community projects.
He is survived by his spouse, Julie Cummings; stepchildren, Christopher (Kayla) Cabrera, Brianna Bonifer, and Michael Bonifer; granddaughter, Remiel Rose Carter; brother, Greg (Brandy) Cummings; nieces, Skyly and Myah Cummings; great-nephew, Ezekiel Clark; grandparents, Don and Shirley Buck; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Cindy and Keith Cummings; grandparents, Charles and Ruth Cummings; niece and goddaughter, Breah Cummings.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be held at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene FFC, 304 N. Jackson Street, Huntingburg, IN 47542, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Doors will open at 12:00 p.m. with the service commencing at 1:00 p.m., followed by a pitch-in dinner.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to support his cremation tombstone, and final expenses.
