Alexander Charles “Chuck” Hamilton of Evansville, IN died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a five year courageous battle with cancer.
Chuck was born on August 14, 1951 to the late Helen (Lintzenich) and Meredith Hamilton. He had a lively childhood growing up with his ten siblings on the West Side. His many stories of their antics always kept his family entertained at gatherings.
Chuck attended Mater Dei High School and after graduation, briefly attended Saint Meinrad. He quickly realized, and so did St. Meinrad, that the seminary life was not for him. He enlisted in the army and served in Vietnam. After discharge he attended USI receiving a B.S. degree in English.
After graduation he accepted a position with Jacobs Engineering and moved to Houston, TX. He had a long and exciting career in the petrochemical industry living and working in various locations in the U.S. and abroad. He spent many years in South America, Korea, India, and Africa. His family was able to live with him on some of these projects, giving his family the opportunity of a lifetime to live and experience foreign countries and cultures.
Chuck loved his four children dearly and his three grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He loved spending time with them, playing, relaxing by the pool, and creating stories for them.
Chuck was preceded in death by his infant daughter Laura Lee Hamilton and his parents Helen and Meredith Hamilton.
Chuck leaves behind daughters:
Sarah Riley (Shawn)
Allison Hamilton
Sons:
Jeffrey Hamilton
Steven Hamilton (Rachel)
Grandchildren:
Siobhan Riley
Spencer Riley
Lily Crawford
Chuck was also survived by his beloved caregiver and ex wife, Vicki Hamilton, who always tracked him down no matter how far he traveled.
He will also be missed by his large extended family of siblings, nieces, and nephews. His family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Chuck in his final days. Chuck was cremated and requested no service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

My heartfelt condolences to the Hamilton family. As I read of Chuck’s passing I was flooded with memories of my childhood and growing up with the Hamilton family. We lived so close and there were so many of us. We went to school, played and got in trouble together, and we all turned out pretty well thanks to those interactions. May Chuck rest in peace and may his family be at peace with his passing.
