Henderson, KY. – Bennie Ray Newman, 78, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson, Kentucky.
Bennie was born on September 12, 1942 to the Bennie Wayne Newman and Maylon (Pogue) Turkheim.
Bennie enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He was an ORT truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working in the trucking industry, meeting new people, fellow drivers and wherever those eighteen wheels took him. He also loved to grab a mic and sing his heart out at local karaokes. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed talking and helping others. Bennie was a member of the American Legion.
Bennie is survived by his son, Jon Brent (Tammy) Newman and family; daughter, Lani Yates and family; Missy Newman; fiancé, Mary Householder; her sons, Wayne (Cindy) and family; Gary (Anita) and family; daughters, Nellie (Thomas) and family; Diane (Dean) and family; Lori and family; Lisa and family; Melinda (Ed) and family. Brothers, Brett (Tina) Newman of Mt. Vernon, IN; Joe Ritcheson. Sisters, Robin Newman Abbott of Owensville, IN; Anna Kirby; and Brenda Bailey.
Memorial service will be November 21, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the American Legion Post 40, Henderson, Kentucky.

Dear Brent , Tammy , Haylee , Winston & Rylee Ann . Just wanted All Of YOU to know that we are so sorry for the loss of Benny . He was a very jolly , good communicator , and very talented fellow . He sure could sing , couldn’t he . Every time that we would see him he had a big smile that was very contagious too others . We will be praying for all of YOU at this very difficult time .
