Bettye Jo Slaughter (Glick), Henderson, Kentucky, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her children: Brian (Lisa) Glick, Brad (Linda) Glick, Craig (Janet) Glick, and Missy (Mark) Neighbors, her sister, Kaye (Phillip) Duncan, and a brother, Bobby (Jeanette) Hardrick and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Hardrick, mother, Reva Hardrick (Lowery), brothers, Tommy and Donnie Hardrick and a sister, Linda Faye Durbin.
Bettye was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend! She loved being around her family and having her grandchildren spend the night with her. Bettye also enjoyed playing cards, reading, going to horse races, and travelling. She worked as the manager of Airgas in Evansville, Indiana but first started out at Kentucky Air Products (Acetylene Gas) in Henderson, KY. She worked in the welding supply industry for over 40 years. Bettye was the first one at work and the last to leave on many days, she was a very hard worker! She also enjoyed being a CASA volunteer for a few years.
The family would like to thank; Walnut Creek, Evansville Protestant Home, and Southern Care Hospice for the excellent care she received during her struggle with Alzheimer’s!
A Celebration of Bettye’s life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. Friends can visit from 10:00 to 12:00 with a celebration of life at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
