Byron Dean, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024.
Byron was born in Arizona, raised in California, and spent his adult life traveling the world both for work and for pleasure. After completing his enlisted years in the Air Force, he spent the first part of his career in Aerospace before moving into the private sector and eventually retiring from FedEx.
Byron had a gift for languages and was always happy for opportunities to practice and learn more of them. He loved spending time on the tennis or racquetball courts, and enjoyed that even as his knees got bad, he could still give his young and nimble kids a run for their money on the court. He was happy to lend a hand with any project for anyone at any time.
Byron enjoyed passing down his love of the great outdoors and a good campfire story, even if the story got more outlandish each time he told it. Byron’s memory will be cherished by many family and friends, all of whom are encouraged to tell their story around their next campfire.
A memorial will be planned for family and close friends in the spring. In lieu of flowers (because even in death we are certain he would not tolerate them), the family requests that donations be made to the Heart-to-Heart Hospice foundation, the National MS Society, or an organization of your choosing.
