Cheri Boop, age 60, of Richland, IN, passed away Sunday January 7, 2024, at her best friend Kent Moran’s house in hospice care. Friends and family had surrounded her in her final days and two of her children were by her side as she took her last breaths.
Cheri was born April 15, 1963, and graduated from South Spencer High School. She was a mental health tech at St. Mary’s for over 20 years. Co-workers often commented on her bright smile and the ability to work circles around others. She spent many years being actively involved in her community and children’s lives including but not limited to coaching and being on the PTA. Cheri was known to have incredible strength and unfailing compassion for others.
Her favorite place was the beach and she loved trips to Panama City Beach, Florida. More than anything, she loved her children and grandchildren.
Cheri is preceded in death by her mother Sue Stateler, stepfather Norm Stateler, stepmother Charlotte Enlow, sister-in-law Rachelle Boop, and niece Wendy Neat.
She is survived by her father Ronald Enlow, brother Brian Enlow, spouse of 23 years George Boop, her children Joshua Hoofer, Talbert Boop and wife Jessica, Zachary Boop and wife Kayla, and daughter Savannah Boop; grandchildren Breanna Hoofer, Danielle Boop, Macy Boop, Lane Boop, Raylan Boop, Ryker Boop, and Antonio DeJarnett; one great grandchild Atticus Hoofer; along with many nieces and nephews.
Cremation was in the care of Simple Cremation in Evansville Indiana. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on January 27, 2024, at Midway Park, in Richland Indiana.

I’m saddened to learn of Cheri’s passing. She was such a loving, caring soul. I always loved working with Cheri at St. Mary’s. She went above and beyond and gave of herself selflessly. Truly a loss to all who knew her. My deepest sympathy, condolences and prayers to family and friends.
