Christa A. Kunze, 88 of Evansville, passed away June 8, 2021 at her home. She was born January 19,1933 in Germany.
She learned her trade as a tailor in Germany and put it to use when she and her husband emigrated to the U.S. in 1956. She was well known for her attention to detail and her beautiful work.
But her main purpose in life was her ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Teaching others about the Good News of God’s Kingdom was when she was happiest. Her hope is to see all her loved ones once again in the promised Paradise.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudi Kunze, son, Eddie Kunze and grandson, Kevin Kunze.
She is survived by sons, Jürgen (Sherry) and Peter, who cared for her, daughters, Carol Ellard (Brent) and Linda Pliego (Jose); grandchildren, Joseph, Justin, Keith, Christopher, Jacob, Rachel and Sarah Kunze, Joshua Carter, Jaime Rubottom, Faith Urwin, Tasia Ryals and Kristle Berensen; 24 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Also her many loving and caring friends. She loved you all very much.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Hospice Care for everything.
Due to Christa’s wishes, there will be no services.

Carol, please accept our sincere condolences. We have so many wonderful memories of working with Christa in the field ministry, getting alterations, and trying to get her to pronounce the word “zither”. We look forward to seeing her in paradise in perfect health in perfect surroundings.

Dear Carol,
I will dearly miss your mom. I send you my heartfelt condolences, hugs to tuck away in your pocket to pull out whenever a tear comes to your eye, and a whisper of the resurrection hope in your ear to brighten your heart.
Christa was such a strong woman. Jehovah made her strong. She had to be to endure the things she endured. But when she spoke about Jehovah—oh how her face brightened and softened. That smile. I could only hope to have the courage and faith that she did. Truly a blessing to have her on my studies. Love you. Bear Hugs

Christa and I spent many hours preaching and teaching about Jehovah’s Kingdom. She also played the piano and sang Kingdom songs. I loved to sing with her, she had a beautiful voice. Look so forward to seeing her and all of our loved ones again in Paradise. We just need to get there. Christa will be there. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Carol & Family;
I never had opportunity to work with your mom in service & only was in the congregation with her during her declining years but I heard stories of her faithfulness from as far back as the 60’s.
I know Jehovah has her safely in his memory. Think of her as sleeping, you weren’t there at all times when she napped just as you can’t be with her right now. She is sleeping the most restful, undisturbed of naps. When she is called to awaken she will be fit & ready to go to work at whatever task Jehovah has in mind for her to accomplish. She fully accomplished the task he gave her to do in the past so she will again set a stalwart example in the near future of applying herself to a new task.
Rejoice in the hope of the resurrection; this is a true gift of love from Jehovah.

I’m thankful that jehovah sent her to my door. She was a good teacher and stayed with me for 6 months and then turned me over to other good teachers but I was sad to lose christa.

We send you our heartfelt prayers and sorrows as we see another faithful and stellar example of loyalty and endurance pass away. Whenever we would come and visit, Christa was always there at the Kingdom Hall, faithful in her worship. She was constant and never wavering, strong regardless of any aches and pains. But we know that we can look to the future with confidence, knowing that we will all meet again when our loved ones are resurrected. Please know that our hearts ache for all of the family and your great loss.
Your friends,
Helke and Len Sheeder
