Connie Beth Pemberton, age 75 passed away peacefully at her Dubois, Indiana home on October 19, 2024 after a 14 month battle with AML. Born on March 14, 1949 in Kirkland, Washington to the late Cornelius James Chamberlin Jr. and Mary Beth (Whipple) Chamberlin.
Connie Beth lived a life of curiosity, with an adventurous spirit, an admiration for the simple and love for nature.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children: daughter Elizabeth AP Gutgsell (Rob) of Jasper, Indiana and son Michael G. Pemberton (Cassie) of Sammamish, Washington, as well as her favored grandchildren, Trey Gutgsell (New Albany, Indiana), Addison and Julia Pemberton (Sammamish, Washington). Her legacy of strength as a Waymaker lives on through them.
After retirement from Accounting at Darigold of Seattle in 1997, Connie Beth joined her daughter to reside in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Her Indiana adventures include work in the gift and decor industry, railroad experience, kyaking on Indiana lakes, with a second retirement found in the retail industry of Walmart. In her final retirement years, she found fulfillment as an avid reader, short nature walks and sharing special occasions with family.
In respecting her wishes, cremation has been chosen with a private family celebration of Connie Beth’s life to follow in her home state of Washington at a later date.
Connie Beth’s family is forever grateful for the compassionate, skilled and caring medical professionals/staff at Memorial Hospital of Jasper and especially the selfless, trained and caring professionals providing the final comforts of Heart to Heart Hospice – allowing Connie Beth’s desire to end her journey at home. Our lives are forever touched by the people who called, cared for and comforted her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Local Foundation Chapter of Heart to Heart Hospice by noting “Foundation” addressing to 415 E. 6th Street, Jasper, IN 47546.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Cremation Evansville.
