Daniel “Jacob” Reed, 32, of Evansville, IN, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 26th of 2023. He was born in Henderson, Kentucky and attended Harrison High School and the School of Academic and Career Development where he studied Agricultural Mechanization.
He worked as a meat cutter prior to working as a lumber yard associate and fork truck driver at Menards. He was a skilled butcher, so that enacted well with his love of knives and other forms of weaponry. He also had the gift of a mechanical mind that could take apart and fix most things.
He was a contemplative thinker and dreamer with one goal, to better the world through his efforts and contributions, both to humankind and within environmental cleanup areas of earth. He was always his true and authentic self and a devoted gardener and mushroom hunter. Jacob strived to nurture the planet, so seeing the results of his labor come to fruition was always one of his greatest joys.
An autodidact, there was no aspiration he didn’t strive to become an expert in. He could identify choppers and planes by ‘in flight’ sound, and taught himself how to operate multiple flight simulators and loved playing Gundam video games. He so enjoyed building and painting highly detailed Gundam models and selling those models so others could enjoy them too.
Daniel Jacob was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Charles J. Reed and Daniel S. Doggett; Grandmother, Martha Reed; and Father, Charles Louis Reed. He is survived by his Mother, Cindy Lou Reed; Brother, Charles Nickolas Reed; Grandmother, Phillis A. Ragsdale; Aunts, Marlene Hart, Elaine Swain, Vicky Reed, and Christine Marshall; Uncles, Chris Reed, Dave Hart, and Dan Swain.
There will be no public service, and the family asks that his life be perpetually honored by you; as you, give away kindness, understanding, peace and love in his name, to all living beings.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.
