Morganfield, KY – David Gordon Oakley, 53, of Morganfield, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at his home. He was born on May 8, 1968 in Madisonville, Kentucky to Jimmy G. and Clara J. (David) Oakley.
David worked at Pioneer Plastics for 21 years and was a dedicated U.K. Wildcats fan.
He is survived by his wife, Darla (Tabor) Oakley; his children, Michael Tabor, Brittany Buckman (David), Kyle Tabor and Tonya Watson; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his mother, Clara Oakley of Providence, KY as well as his sister, LeeAnn France (Randy) also of Providence, KY.
David is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Oakley and his grandparents, Elmer & Dorothy Oakley and Walter & Goldie David.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at New Covenant Christian Center in Providence, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. with services beginning at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in David’s name.

David fought a long battle with cancer, but he was always smiling whenever I saw him, I loaned him some crutches one time and when he brought them back to me, he said you will always be my aunt and I love you and I told him I loved him also. I will be praying for his family, and I know he is with Jesue now.

Clara,Lee Ann, Darla and to the rest of the family I’m so,so sorry to hear of David’s passing. He was one of the sweetest person I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. He had such a pleasant personality and a smile that was just amazing. Our mortal bodies will miss him but he’s with Jesus and his Dad and other family members now🙏🏻 I love all of you and we have to live a good life here so we can see him again one fine day!!!
