Eric Paul Katchur, 50, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on January 9, 2024. Born on January 13, 1973, Eric was a caring and giving brother, uncle, and friend. He served over a decade in the United States Army, a period that filled him with immense pride. Eric dedicated his life to serving others, as a volunteer firefighter at Knight Township Fire Department, as a corrections officer, and during his 15 years at Bodine Services.
Eric’s love for the outdoors was evident in his avid pursuit of outdoor activities. He could often be found enjoying his favorite restaurant, Nellies. His sarcasm and dry sense of humor are things his loved ones will always remember about him.
Eric is survived by his sisters, Kelly (Terry) Moranz and Kristi (Robbie) Chapman, his mother Jeannie Murillo, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Katchur.
A celebration of Eric’s life will be announced at a later date.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.
