Elberfeld, IN – Gayle “Skip” Wright, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 17, 2024 in Elberfeld, IN. He was born on August 2nd, 1946 in Bedford, KY
Skip’s father was a farmer and a preacher, and his mother was a loving homemaker. His parents instilled in him a deep love of God and the outdoors.
Skip bravely answered his country’s call and honorably served as a Soldier during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Skip fostered his deep love of nature and living off the land. He was an avid hiker, especially enjoying Yosemite National Park and the Grand Canyon. His quick wit and unique sense of humor always kept those around him on their toes.
Skip is preceded in death by parents Daniel and Barbara (Peak) Wright and a brother Gary Wright.
Skip is survived by his daughter Julie McCord (Scott), son John Wright, son David Wright (Pennie), brother Glenn Wright, and three grandsons Joshua Edlin (Megan), Tyler Edlin (Jordan), and Jackson Wright (Arlette). Skip is also survived by his long-term friend Aldine.
