Gordon Jones (70) of Jasper, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 8th 2024 at Transcendent in Boonville. Gordon is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Patsy (Lundy) Jones, a son, Jason Allen Jones and a grandchild Jocelyn Jones. Gordon is survived by two children, David Jones of Evansville, Indiana and Crystal Smith of Lynnville, Indiana as well as 9 Grandchildren, Tristan Jones of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lydia Jones, Samantha Jones, Ethan Jones and Chloe Jones of Evansville, Indiana and Wyatt Smith, Jarred Smith, and Hannah Grace Smith of Lynnville, Indiana.
Gordon was born on June 19th, 1953 , the 6th out of 8 children to Fred and Rose Jones in Chandler, Indiana. He graduated from Castle High School in 1972 and promptly married the love of his life. Gordon and Patsy built a life together, following his engineering job across the country and to foreign soil for a great deal of time. Gordon returned home to Indiana with retirement in 1996 and amazed all of the locals with his fluency in 6 different languages and his skills as an expert marksman and an exceptional fisherman.
In his free time, Gordon could be found lounging in the sunshine, hanging out with his best boy Maxx, attending his Grandchildren’s sporting events, and either fishing or shooting with his many brothers.
The final two years of Gordon’s life was a challenge for him and we wanted to thank all of the amazing people that entered his life during this time to make his transitions more comfortable. If so compelled, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association.
A Celebration of life Ceremony for both Gordon and Patsy will be held simultaneously on Friday, June 28th, 2024 from noon-4pm at the Chandler Public Library Meeting Room in Chandler, Indiana.
