Jack L. Tate Jr, 66, of Newburgh, passed away surrounded by family and friends Sunday, November 10, 2024 at St. Vincent hospital.
Jack was born July 15, 1958 in Evansville, IN to the late Jack L. Tate Sr and Jo An (Courtney)Tate. Jack graduated from Castle High School in 1976. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for several local contracting companies along with his own company “Jack of all Trades”. He had a passion for motorcycles and competed in land speed racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Jack was a Christian man with a huge heart and got pure enjoyment out of helping family and friends.
Jack is survived by his brothers James (Amy Gelinas) Tate, Don Tate, Joseph Tate, Patrick (John Reams) Tate, sons Charlie (Amy Shanks) Peerman and Mitchell (Bobbi Bittner) Wetherholt.
In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his sister Debra Sue Tate.
A celebration of life will be held at 6pm Saturday, November 16, at the Sweetwater Event Center, 8355 Eagle Lake Drive, Evansville, IN 47715.
