Petersburg, IN – James “Mike” Jones, 48, of Petersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 27, 1971 in Greensburg, Indiana to James Howard Jones and Judy (Tatman) Hornbeck.
Mike loved camping, fishing, kayaking and working outside. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Petersburg, Indiana where he taught Sunday school and worked with the youth. He was always in high spirits and loved life, a man devoted to his church, his family and the great outdoors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Nikki (Cox) Jones; children, Alyssa Hollander (Seth), Madison Jones, Reece Jones; mother, Judy Hornbeck (Ken) and siblings, Cynthia Hale (Tim) and Nancy Gay (Scott).
Mike is preceded in death by his father, James Jones.
A celebration of life in honor of Mike will be held at 6 PM EST on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Petersburg, Indiana and will be officiated by Pastor Mike Miller.
Visitation will be from 4:30 PM EST until the time of service at the church.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.

Combs. He always gave it his all and often spoke of his wife and children who I know he loved more than anything .
