Jacqueline (Jackie) Louise Trail, 75, of Evansville passed away after complications of several health-related problems. She was born on June 16th, 1949 in Evansville and her parents were Jack and Alma Hust. She was an only child but she is survived by her son, Robert Trail (also from Evansville) and her cousins Joe and Julie Vedder (of Evansville as well), as well as the rest of their family as well. She was a 1967 graduate of North High School and after graduating, she attended the Indiana State Police Academy and later became a Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputy and also worked as a security officer later in her life.
Jackie grew up in a loving household where she spent much time with her parents. In 1973, she became the beloved mother of her only son, Robert, to whom she was a very caring and supportive parent. One of her great loves was reading books, especially crime and mystery-related ones and over the last several years of her life, she shared a passion with her son for travelling. During the last 15 years or so, they travelled all across the country together, usually with their beloved dogs, Maxwell (who passed away in 2021) and then, Maxwell 2. Together, they covered the entire country, seeing all of the 48 states in the contiguous United States.
After many health-related problems, Jackie passed away very peacefully on Sunday, December 15th, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. In lieu of a funeral, a Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held at a later date.
