Mark Gibson, 72, of Evansville Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2024
surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Evansville, IN on December 16, 1952 to Dorsie and Deloris Gibson. Mark attended Central High School (Class of 1970). He retired after 35 years of service at CS Railroad and worked as a mechanic prior to that.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Dorsie and Deloris Gibson, brother Bradley Gibson, and grandparents Mary and Sam Settlemoire. He is survived by his wife of 52 years and amazing caregiver, Carol Gibson; son Jason (Amy); daughter Jennifer Hamilton (Nicholas); sister Becky Reynolds (Jack) and niece Emily; grandchildren Blaine, Izzy, Addy, Dawson, Braden, Griffin and Fallon, all of whom were his pride and joy.
Mark was an avid drag racer and fast cars were his passion. He loved spending time at the track with his son, grandson and all of his racing friends. He loved fishing and spending time with family and attending functions with his grandchildren. Mark was a member of the Lord’s Church at the Westside Church of Christ and loved attending services and spending time with his Christian family.
A celebration of life will be held at West Side Church of Christ, 3232 Edgewood Drive, Evansville, Indiana, 47712 on October 26,2024 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.

Mark will be missed. I went to High School with him and we were very good friends. He made me laugh all the time. Such a nice guy. We found each other on Facebook later in life.
