Michael “Big Daddy” Williams passed away on Friday, January 20th, 2023, at Columbia Healthcare.
Mike was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He made his way to Chicago where he met the love of his life, Deture “Cookie” Thomas. They eventually settled in Evansville, Indiana where Cookie’s family lived. While they did not have children of their own, Mike became the best uncle to his nieces and nephews. Mike was a well-known construction worker, with a specialty in window installation. He shared his wealth of construction knowledge with his nephews and loved watching them grow their skills. Mike was an incredibly hard worker and always made people laugh.
Mike is survived by his parents, Andrew and Catherine Page; siblings Larry Williams, Jerdie Shannon, Terry Williams, Debra Walker, and Verneda Allen and a host of nieces and nephews all of Mississippi. His family in Evansville; sister-in-law, Eartha nieces and nephews-Henrietta “Precious” Jenkins, Tony Stanley (Heather), and Albert Falls. Great nephews & nieces, Carlis “Sugarpop”, Cole, and Elaysha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cookie; nephew, Carlis Falls, and great niece-TaLayzia Davis.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18th, 2023, at Young & Established, 1308 Covert Evansville, IN.
