Nathan J. Borsa passed away surrounded by his wife and step-children on October 9, 2023. He was born on September 29, 1973 to Kathleen Yoder (Borsa) and Jon Brock as Nathan Jon Brock, and later in his teenage years he was adopted as Nathan Jon Borsa.
As a little boy, he had a passion for building and tinkering, always trying to find out the way things worked. He was very intelligent, he loved learning.
In his older years he loved Nascar, and his favorite drivers were Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. He also loved Top Gun, always dreaming of being a fighter pilot. You could always catch him outside working with his hands or tools and building things or enjoying the sounds and smells of nature. Some of his most prized possessions were things he built himself, as well as his large collection of eagles. Not only did he love eagles, but he also loved penguins. His love for music was almost as strong as his love for learning. His favorite songs were “When I’m Back On My Feet Again” by Michael Bolton and Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins. As a hard worker, he prided himself in any job he could accomplish. He worked to provide as much as he could for his family. He loved to travel to all sorts of places and had many adventures with his wife Kelly in recent years.
For his career, Nate was a proud mechanical engineer with a bachelor’s degree and 2 associate degrees. Throughout his life he lived in Northern Indiana, later relocating to Southern Indiana, his final residence being Evansville, Indiana, or as he called it, “Mini Chicago”.
Nate always believed in God and wanted to walk in the Christian faith. He’d love to tell his wife every day to “Be the best you can be!” Now he is free from his earthly suffering, soaring with the eagles that represented the freedom he always longed for. “Now he’s back on his feet again.”
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Fred and Virginia (Tim) Brock, and maternal grandparents, Roy and Juanita Yoder.
Nate is survived by his wife Kelly (Harlan) Borsa, children Nicole (Kyle) Parish and Nathan Ahlers, stepchildren Jessica (Michael) Williams, Lindsay Biggs, and Nathan Biggs and his loving Pitbull, Bosco. In addition, his mother Kathleen Borsa, father Jon (Suzie) Brock. As well as his 9 siblings, Krystal (Jeremy) Brock-Lybarger, Kyra (Foster) Stingel, Justyn – Bear (Nickole) Borsa, Anthony Borsa, Mike Borsa, Timothy (Laura) Borsa, Tyler (Tye) Borsa, Alysia (Jeremy) Dawson, Jayme (Ryan) Poulin, and Samantha (Matthew) White. As well as many, many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life in his honor in Evansville, Indiana. There will be another memorial located in northern Indiana to be announced at a later date.
To help with memorial costs, a go fund me has been created. Any donations are appreciated and will go
