Nick “Nicko” Robling, 64, formerly of Petersburg, Indiana passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home in Evansville, Indiana.Nick was born on December 7, 1959 to Larry Gene Robling and Olivia Jean (Selby) Robling and spent most of his life in Petersburg before moving to Evansville.
He attended Pike County schools and graduated from Pike Central High School in 1978 and never met a stranger. He will always be remembered for his portrayal of Gene Simmons of KISS, his favorite band, complete with costume and stage performances. Nick was also a Body Builders for several years and won several contests, including a first-place trophy in the 2014 NPC Southern Indiana Muscle Masters Men contest at the age of 54. Nick was an extremely talented artist and shared his talents with friends and hundreds of clients by working as a tattoo artist in Evansville.
Nick attended church activities in Evansville and was baptized in March 2023.
He was proceeded in death by a son, Justin Robling in 1999; parents Larry Gene Robling and Olivia “Jean” Robling Burgess; a sister, Tina Robling Dearing; paternal grandparents Paul and Pearl (Deen) Robling and maternal grandparents Paul Selby and Mary (Stone) Selby.
Nick is survived by his son, Jacob Robling of Petersburg; a brother Brad Robling; a niece and nephew, and his former wife, Debbie (Morton) Robling Willis of Petersburg. Several other family members and close friends also survive.
Following Nick’s wishes, cremation was chosen at Simple Cremations in Evansville. Memorial plans have not been made at this time.
