Washington, IN – Paula Vea (Howard) Knox, 63, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on July 31, 1959 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Garfield and Pauline (Woodson) Howard.
Paula grew up and attended school in Washington, IN. She graduated in May 1977 as the first black class president since her great, great aunt, who graduated 80 years previous, in 1897. She had been a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority group and was a Christian of no particular denomination. She loved sewing, traveling and playing piano. Most of all, Paula loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, as well as her dogs and cats.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Knox; her children, Leslie Quiocho (Danny), Victoria Knox and Valerie Knox; her grandchildren, Aryanna Kruchten, Miykael Knox, Vincent Knox, Titus Wood and Leilani Quiocho; her brother, Leslie Howard (Louvenia) as well as her nephews, Leslie, Jr. and Jeffrey.
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Anyone who may have further questions may contact Leslie or Vincent for further information.
