Ramelle Girten

Ramelle Girten, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of sixty-seven (67), surrounded by her loved ones. Ramelle’s spirit was as boundless as the great outdoors she adored. Whether she was swimming, camping around a campfire, or simply enjoying nature’s blessings, she lived every moment to the fullest. Additionally, her true joy was in the time she spent with her husband, sons, grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, and nephews, creating memories that the family will cherish forever. Her selfless love extended to the countless animals she and her husband cared for over the years, nurturing over twenty dogs and cats throughout her lifetime. Her legacy of love, spontaneity, and family devotion will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Ramelle was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Mary Doris Buchanan, brother-in-law, Mark Taylor and sister-in-law, Vienna Buchanan. Surviving Ramelle are her husband of 46 years, Michael Girten; children, Nathan (Sally) Girten and Scott (JoAnna) Girten; siblings, Linda Buchanan, Michael (Andrea) Buchanan, Donna (Ronnie) Attebury, Lora Taylor, and four grandchildren, Edward Girten, Isabelle Girten, Ronin Girten, Abigail Girten, and many nephews and nieces.

A celebration of Ramelle’s life is on November 16, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Posey County Aging Center located at 611 West 8^th Street, Mount Vernon, Indiana 47620: open to family and friends.
