Samuel C. Sweatt of Evansville, IN went to his heavenly home on November 22, 2023. He was born on August 15th, 1963 in Russellville, KY.
He was a hard worker that always liked to be doing something, whether it was working on a car, the house or tending to his garden. He was the person that so many called with a question of how to do something, fix something or tell them what was wrong with their car. When help was needed, he would help with anything from towing a car to helping the kids in the neighborhood with fixing their bikes and airing up their tires.
When he would slow down he liked relaxing on the porch swing with his wife, or smoking meat for all to enjoy. He wasn’t overly competitive but did enjoy a good game of Scattergories where everyone playing with him understood they were going for 2nd place. He had all the clever answers.
He retired from the painters union and was a member of Northeast Park Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Evan Sweatt, Floella & Floyd Baskerville, infant son Samuel Brian Sweatt
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Sweatt; their children Brittany Sweatt (Omair and children Zara, Zain, & Zayaan), Jacob Sweatt, Danielle Woodall (Dylan). Siblings; Richard Sweatt (Lisa), Mickey Sweatt (Lynn), Susie Shaw, James Baskerville (Diana) Ronnie Baskerville (Teresa), Lisa Baskerville, Betty Jane Baskerville, an uncle, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Northeast Park Baptist Church 1215 N.Boeke Road Evansville, IN 47711 on Saturday December 2nd. Friends may visit at 3:00 until service time at 4:00
The family would like to thank the staff at Intrepid for the care and compassion shown not only to Sam but to the entire family.

Sam was a sweet guy and stayed that way even after suffering the stroke that made a big change in his life. He never lost his smile.
