Shane Mitchell Wittman, 36, dear friend to all who knew him, passed away on May 31, 2024 in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by his loved ones.
A handsome blue-eyed boy, Shane was brought into the world on October 19, 1987, in Huntingburg, Indiana thanks to his mother (and the apple of his eye) Elaine Zoglman Voges.
Never one to sit still, Shane enjoyed life to the fullest. If he wasn’t spending time with his family, including his nephews and nieces, you’d find him outdoors enjoying sunsets on the river, riding motorcycles and four-wheelers, mowing lawns, and tinkering with electronics. Shane loved cars and was always detailing them or working on them. He always wanted to start his own detailing business.
Shane was like a Sour Patch Kid. He had a tough exterior at times, but always had a heart of gold and a spirit for helping others. Shane loved big. He never met a human or animal that he wouldn’t help. You could always count on him to be there for you, no matter the circumstances.
Survived by his mother, Elaine Zoglman Voges of St Meinrad, IN; his siblings Jessa Wittman of Santa Claus, IN, Luke Wittman (Jessica) of Evanston, IN, Landon Neukam (Alison) of Pickerington, OH; his nephews and niece Zeke Wittman, Ethan Wittman, Patrick Walters, Maggie Walters, Keaton Neukam, Hudson Neukam; his beloved dog Willow, and many other family and friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandmother Lorine (Gehlhausen) Zoglman, grandfather Clarence Zoglman, and his adored dog, Zeus.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 8th beginning at 2pm CT at the ECA (Evanston Civic Association) located at 11581 E CR 1050, N Evanston, IN 47531. All family and friends are invited to attend to honor Shane.

I loved him so much. He was my soul mate. And ill never find or even try looking for another. He was the one. He made me smile when life got hard and gave me a shoulder to rest my head. One day I’ll thank him for showing me what true love felt like. Forever his and only his. Jesse

Shane was a good friend to me in high school. He’d always have a smile and lend a helping hand no matter what. One of my favorite memories was him taking me to get my nails done for prom. He was my chauffeur more times than I can count. We worked together at DQ for a while too. I’m sad we didn’t keep in touch but glad to hear he went out into the world to find what made him smile. I’ll always remember his smile and his hugs. Rest easy, my friend.
