Tamara Lynn Burris 59, Washington. Tamara Lynn Burris (Canary) was called to her heavenly home May 13th, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Tammy was born Dec 31st 1964 to Barbara (Richardson) and Everett Canary in Vincennes, Indiana. Growing up in rural Martin Co, Tamara’s favorite childhood memories consisted of spending time with her Grandparents, learning all about life in the country. She attended Barr Reeve High School and graduated in 1982 and earned a scholarship to attend Vincennes University. In 1988 she married Christopher Burris of Washington, and the following year welcomed a set of twins Samantha Sue and Dylan Ray. They were later joined by brother Devan Kade in 1996, and sister Zoe Rain in 2005. She spent the rest of her life teaching her children to be loving and kind humans. She passed on her knowledge and wisdom in countless ways. She adored Prince and anything purple. Any occasion was always filled laughter, love, and adventure. She was a dear friend to many and will be missed sorely. Tamara was proceeded in death by both parents, grandparents, and son Devan. She is survived by children Samantha (Edwardsport) Dylan (Bowling Green KY) and Zoe of Washington. One sister, Amanda Canary, along with numerous Aunt’s, Uncles and cousins. As well as many friends she considered family. ″ ‘If you become a bird and fly away from me,’ said his mother, ‘I will be a tree that you come home to.’ “- a quote from the book Runaway Bunny, a book she shared with her children many of times, and one we will cherish the rest of our lives.A graveside service will be held at Sugarland Memorial Gardens in Plainville,IN on May 28th at 1 pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
