Boonville, IN – Tonya Kaye Simmonds, 54, of Boonville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at her home. She was born on December 5, 1967.
Tonya was a loving Mother, grandmother, fiancé and friend. She was engaged to the love of her life, Ronnie Elliott, whom she absolutely loved and adored up to the very end.
She was a fierce and faithful woman of Christ. She shared her love of Jesus with everyone she met and fought her battles with prayer and bold faith. Tonya attended Rhythm Church and loved her church family. She looked forward to service all week. Even on her sickest days during her battle with cancer, she would often be in the front row on Sunday, arms lifted and praising the Lord. She was as bold as a lion when she spoke and stood up for what she believed was right and just. She inspired many by speaking love and wisdom into the lives of those she cared about. Her favorite phrase to leave you with was “love and light” and that’s who she was. She radiated a beautiful display of love and light everywhere she went.
Her lessons, wisdom and words of advice will forever remain in the hearts of those she knew and loved. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends left behind.
Tonya is survived by her daughter, Heather Pressley; her grandson, Donovan Pressley and her fiancé, Ronnie Elliott.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Simple Cremation Evansville is entrusted with care.
